Solidariedade Party Reshuffles Leadership in Brazil's Rio Grande do Norte

The Solidariedade political party announced a temporary suspension of its activities in Rio Grande do Norte on 10 July 2026, ceding all electoral decision‑making to its national direction ahead of the 2026 state elections. Hours later the national leadership refuted the claim of a shutdown, appointing Parnamirim mayor Nilda Cruz as the new state president and describing the move as a new phase of strengthening the party’s presence in the state. The clarification noted that senior figures such as former state deputy Kelps Lima and state deputy Cristiane Dantas had recently left the party for União Brasil and PSDB, respectively. Solidariedade also reaffirmed its alliance with candidate Allyson Bezerra (União) for the gubernatorial race, highlighting its ongoing support for the Renovação Solidária federation’s slate of candidates for federal and state legislatures.
