Solidium Oy announces sale of 70 million Sampo plc shares

Solidium Oy, the Finnish state-owned investment company, has announced the sale of 70 million Sampo plc A-shares, representing approximately 2.6 percent of Sampo’s outstanding shares. The accelerated offering is aimed at Finnish and international institutional investors. Solidium intends to use the proceeds primarily to return capital to the Finnish state and to fund additional investments in ICEY. The company has committed to not selling other holdings in Sampo for 90 days, barring customary exceptions.

Separately, Sampo plc reported its share buyback activities for week 38 of 2026. During the period from September 14 to September 18, the company acquired a total of 2,259,333 A-shares across various markets at a weighted average price of EUR 9.41. This activity is part of a larger share buyback programme of up to EUR 350 million initiated in May 2026. Following these transactions, Sampo plc holds 32,778,801 A-shares, accounting for 1.23 percent of its total shares.
