Solofra Tunnel Reopens to General Traffic from August 1

The Monte Pergola tunnel in Solofra will remain open to all traffic starting 1 August, ending the summer‑time closures that had reserved the passage for heavy‑goods vehicles between 10:00 and 13:00. Mayor Nicola Moretti highlighted years of dialogue with the Prefecture, ANAS and local authorities that led to the decision, noting that the previous restrictions caused long queues, diverted traffic onto urban streets and disrupted the industrial district.

The reopening removes the temporary device that had been in place for the past five years, allowing normal vehicular flow and reducing congestion for residents and businesses in the Avellino‑Salerno corridor.
