Somalia arrests nine Al-Shabaab suspects in Mogadishu

Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has apprehended nine individuals suspected of being Al-Shabaab operatives in Mogadishu and its surrounding areas. The arrests took place in the districts of Garasbaalay, Kahda, and the Eelasha Biyaha neighborhoods.

According to NISA, four of the detainees belonged to an interconnected network planning to carry out attacks against civilians to destabilize the capital. The agency stated that its intelligence units had been closely monitoring the group's movements and plans prior to the operation.

The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation. Once investigations are complete, they will be handed over to judicial authorities for legal proceedings. NISA credited the public for sharing information regarding security threats and urged citizens to continue reporting activities related to Al-Shabaab and ISIS.
