Sombor Film Festival kicks off with 'Saučesnici' and Danilo Bata Stojković exhibit
The 8th Somborski Film Festival opened on July 9 in Sombor, Serbia, with a screening of Marko Novaković’s film “Saučesnici” at the City House Atrium. The ceremony also inaugurated an exhibition dedicated to Danilo “Bata” Stojković, presenting photographs, posters, film inserts and personal items that illustrate the veteran Yugoslav actor’s career.
Running through July 12, the festival offers a main competition of five feature films, a program for young authors, a focus on Slovak cinema and a “Sombor as Hollywood” retrospective. Awards include the lifetime‑achievement “Ernest” prize for actor Vojislav Brajović and the “Boer” awards for best film, actor and actress. The event will close with a concert by the Mistik Quartet.
