Sombor hosts EXPO 2027 Belgrade caravan event

The EXPO 2027 Belgrade caravan, specifically the ‘Pavilion of Games’, is visiting Sombor today at St. George Square. The event is designed to introduce citizens to the themes and programming of the upcoming specialized exhibition.

The program, scheduled to begin at 17:00, will feature speeches from Rastko Andrić, Director of Operations for EXPO 2027 Belgrade, and Sombor Mayor Antonio Ratković. The event aims to showcase the city's cultural and sporting heritage, including traditional tambourica music, old crafts such as gold embroidery and weaving, and local sporting clubs.

Highlights include demonstrations from various local sports organizations, including Basketball Club Sombor—the club where Nikola Jokić began his career—as well as kayaking, football, and athletics clubs. The program will also feature the monumental painting ‘The Battle of Senta’, which is the largest oil painting in Serbia.
