Somme authorities report severe speeding and traffic violations

Law enforcement in the Somme department has reported several instances of extreme speeding during recent road safety operations. In Fresnoy-lès-Roye, two drivers were clocked at 193 km/h and 192 km/h on the A1 motorway, significantly exceeding the 130 km/h limit.

Other major infractions occurred on departmental roads with 80 km/h limits. In Clairy-Saulchoix, a driver reached 148 km/h, while in Yvrench, speeds of 133 km/h were recorded. In Athies, a driver was caught traveling at 136 km/h while under the influence of alcohol. In response to these dangerous behaviors, authorities have implemented license suspensions and vehicle impoundments.
