Son Heung-min and LAFC draw 1-1 against New York City FC

LAFC played to a 1-1 draw against New York City FC in an away match for the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. After a previous victory against Austin where Son Heung-min recorded one goal and two assists, LAFC struggled to maintain momentum.

In the match against New York City FC, Leo Baltierra opened the scoring for LAFC in the 44th minute with a free kick. However, New York City FC equalized in the 59th minute through a header by Andres Pareja. Son Heung-min had several opportunities to secure a win for LAFC, including a shot that hit the post in stoppage time, but the match ended in a stalemate.

Despite the draw, Son Heung-min was recently named to the MLS Team of the Week for Round 30 following his dominant performance against Austin, where he was credited with involvement in all three of LAFC's goals.
