Son La driver fined 5 million VND for unsafe overtaking that knocked motorcyclist off Highway 6

Police in Son La province identified the driver of a blue‑plate state vehicle that performed an illegal overtaking maneuver on National Highway 6, causing a motorcyclist to fall. The driver, H. M. T., born 1970, was summoned, admitted the violation and was issued an administrative fine of 5 million VND and a loss of two licence points.

The incident occurred around 13:57 on 15 July 2026 at km 165+400 in Vân Hồ commune. Authorities continue to verify the identity of the motorcyclist involved and are urging the injured party to contact the police for further processing.
