Song Xingyu builds electric flying skateboard in China

Song Xingyu, a 26-year-old inventor from Hubei Province known online as ‘Amazing Ayu’, has developed a self-made flying board powered by 10 electric motors. Inspired by the Green Goblin’s equipment in the Spider-Man film series, the device allows a person to stand on it and fly through the air.

Song successfully used the board to fly over mountains and cross the Yangtze River. The development followed an initial attempt to use five jet engines, which failed due to technical issues where hot exhaust air bounced off the ground and back into the engines.

To manage the difficulty of maintaining balance during flight, Song integrated two smartphones and artificial intelligence. The AI system monitors the board's tilt and provides real-time instructions via earphones, guiding his body positioning and knee placement to ensure stability.
