Sonora and Coahuila launch major health infrastructure projects

Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño inaugurated the state's first Center Coordinator of Health for Well‑Being (Cecosabi), a 53‑million‑peso facility that centralises pre‑hospital care, epidemiological monitoring and emergency response. The centre will be staffed by 88 specialists and includes a public hotline (662 689 6609) to direct patients to available health units, aiming to cut wait times and reduce hospital saturation.

In Monclova, Mayor Carlos Villarreal Pérez announced progress on the Centro de Salud Mental (CESAME) for the Central‑Desert region, with an initial investment of over 20 million pesos and a second phase of 10 million pesos planned for 2027. The centre is expected to begin operations by late 2026 or early 2027 under the Coahuila Health Secretariat, enhancing specialised mental‑health services for the region.
