Sonora authorities arrest homicide suspects and rescue kidnapped minor
Authorities in Hermosillo, Sonora, have conducted significant law enforcement operations involving the arrest of violent suspects and the rescue of a kidnapped minor.
The Sonora State Attorney General's Office (FGJES) arrested three individuals identified as probable generators of violence. Among them is 21-year-old Cristian Rubén “N”, who is a suspect in a double homicide in the Fuente de Piedra neighborhood on October 5, which resulted in the death of a 13-year-old. During the arrest in the Ley 57 neighborhood, officers seized an AK-47 rifle, 19 cartridges, and 35 packets of a substance resembling crystal meth. Another detainee, Alan Arturo “N”, is linked to an armed attack on a prison system official's vehicle.
Separately, the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC) rescued a 17-year-old boy who was being held captive in the El Sapo ejido. Using drones, investigators located the site, causing the captors to flee. The victim stated the kidnapping was linked to a conflict involving the theft of goods from a criminal group. Five vehicles were seized during the operation.
