Health systems undergo updates in Mexico and Bolivia
In Mexico, Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño has strengthened medical emergency responses in Sonora through the operation of the Centro Coordinador de Salud para el Bienestar (Cecosabi). As the first center of its kind in the country, Cecosabi functions as an intelligence and coordination hub to manage ambulances, hospital transfers, and medication availability in real time.
In the state of Tamaulipas, Health Secretary Ricardo Guerrero Morales reported that hospital infrastructure remains stable despite recent heavy rains, with only minor flooding reported in certain areas. He also announced a new strategy to implement 476 universal health clinics by January 2027 to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses.
In Mexico's State of Mexico, federal Deputy Pedro Zenteno Santaella conducted inspections of hospitals in Atizapán and Naucalpan to ensure the IMSS-Bienestar model meets local territorial needs.
In Bolivia, the Ministry of Health and Sports, in coordination with the Pan American Health Organization, is conducting workshops to strengthen the national health system's response to violence against women, adolescents, and children, introducing the ‘Kit ANIMA – AA’ tool for improved care.
