Sonora parties ramp up internal campaigns ahead of upcoming elections

PRI leaders Lupita Soto and Onésimo Aguilera continued a state‑wide tour of Sonora, visiting municipalities such as Nogales, Caborca and Agua Prieta. They urged party militancy to build on recent gains, noting the renewal of 58 municipal committees, 680 sectional committees and the integration of 18 municipal political councils as part of the PRI’s internal renewal for the 2026‑2030 period.

Morena activist María Dolores del Río also travelled through southern Sonora, holding assemblies in Huatabampo, Navojoa and Etchojoa. She highlighted social programmes, infrastructure projects like the Huatabampo pier and educational initiatives, calling for continued unity and dialogue to defend the “Cuarta Transformación” in the region.
