Sonpur Police seize ₹13 crore worth of ganja in Odisha

Sonpur Police have seized over 12.5 quintals of illegal ganja, estimated to be worth approximately ₹13 crore. The seizure took place in the Subalaya police station limits of Sonpur district, Odisha, as part of the “Nishamukta Odisha Abhiyan” initiative.

Acting on intelligence regarding a truck used for transporting large quantities of narcotics, police conducted a targeted raid. The truck driver and other suspects fled the scene upon spotting officers, leaving the vehicle and the contraband behind. While no arrests have been made, a manhunt is underway, and the truck has been confiscated. A case has been registered at the Subalaya police station as investigations continue to dismantle the smuggling network.
