Sony and Canon update mirrorless camera offerings
Sony is offering the Alpha 7 III mirrorless full-frame camera for €1,299, which includes two NP-FZ100 batteries. The camera features a 24.2MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, a BIONZ X processor, and a hybrid autofocus system with 693 phase-detection points. It supports 4K video with full-pixel reading and 5-axis stabilization.
Meanwhile, leaked specifications for the upcoming Canon EOS R8 Mark II suggest a significant update to the existing model. The rumored camera is expected to feature a 24MP full-frame sensor, 7.5-stop In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), and 40fps electronic shooting. Other potential specs include 4K 60p video with 6K oversampling and Dual Pixel AF II. An official announcement is rumored for mid-September 2026, with retail availability potentially starting in October 2026.
