Sony and LG unveil flagship high-end television models

Sony has introduced the BRAVIA 9 II (XR90M2) series, a new generation of high-end LCD televisions featuring RGB mini LED backlighting. This technology utilizes a proprietary ‘RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro’ to control red, green, and blue LEDs individually, aiming to enhance color accuracy. The lineup includes sizes ranging from 65 to 115 inches. The series also features ‘Immersive Black Screen Pro’ technology to minimize screen reflections and integrates Google TV with ‘Gemini for TV’ for AI-driven natural language content searching.

In a separate development, LG Electronics has showcased its G6 OLED evo AI flagship series. Testing data indicates high color precision, with a Delta E (ΔE) measurement of 0.35 in Filmmaker Mode. The G6 series utilizes a new RGB tandem panel and offers high peak brightness, reaching 2,943 cd/m2 at 10% luminance. The model lineup spans from 55 to 97 inches, with premium pricing for larger configurations.
