Gran Turismo celebrates 30 years with Spec IV update and limited DualSense controller

Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced a major content update and commemorative hardware for the Gran Turismo franchise to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

The Spec IV (Part 1) update for Gran Turismo 7 is now available, introducing the Sportsland Sugo circuit in Japan's Miyagi Prefecture. The update also adds six new vehicles: the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo electric hypercar, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94, Honda Civic Si Group A '87, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26, Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23, and the Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston '86. Additional gameplay features include an expanded Car Viewer, an Experience mode, and an increase in the collector level cap from 70 to 90.

To mark the milestone, a limited-edition DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo has been revealed. Featuring a white finish, carbon-fiber-style textures, and motorsport-inspired racing stripes, the controller is scheduled for a global release on December 10. Pre-orders are set to begin on October 22 through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, stated the controller celebrates the journey shared with fans over three decades.
