Capcom sets Sept 25 2026 release for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, demo now available

Capcom announced at the PlayStation State of Play that its new action title Onimusha: Way of the Sword will launch on September 25 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows). A free demo is live immediately on all platforms, letting players explore the early story, fight the Genma Shuten Doji at Mount Oe and battle rival samurai Sasaki Ganryu in the historic Kiyomizu‑dera Temple. The demo awards a special talisman “Kubi Akari” that carries over to the full game.

Pre‑orders are open, with standard bonuses including the “Sealed Curse” sword appearance and the “Lion Dog” talisman. Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions add exclusive cosmetics, extra talismans and a digital soundtrack. Gameplay highlights feature realistic sword‑to‑sword combat, reflex combos, Oni‑powered attacks and agile movement.

In parallel, Sony revealed its 2026 PlayStation Plus lineup, adding three PS2 classics to the Premium tier: Gitaroo Man (June 16), Psi‑Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (July 28) and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (August 25). The service also announced a day‑one surprise: RuneScape Dragonwilds will debut on PS5 and be available to Extra‑tier subscribers at launch.
