Sony expands headphone lineup with luxury and budget-friendly models
Sony is expanding its audio lineup with new high-end and value-oriented noise-canceling headphone models. The WH-1000XX THE COLLECTION is positioned as a luxury offering, featuring premium materials such as a metal headband and hinge mechanism. While it shares DNA with the WH-1000XM6, it is heavier at 320 grams due to its high-quality construction and includes imitation leather ear cushions.
In the more accessible segment, reports suggest the upcoming WH-1000XM4C may aim to compete with brands like Bose and Sennheiser. This model is expected to feature Bluetooth 6.0 for improved connection stability and may see a price reduction to approximately $290. To manage costs, the design might omit the NFC logo found on previous versions, though it is expected to maintain a competitive battery life of roughly 27 hours with active noise cancellation.
