Sony India launches Alpha 7R VI high‑resolution mirrorless camera

Sony India introduced the Alpha 7R VI, the latest model in its premium Alpha series. The full‑frame mirrorless camera features an approximately 66.8‑megapixel back‑illuminated stacked Exmor RS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR2 image processor, delivering a sensor readout about 5.6 times faster than its predecessor. It can shoot continuous bursts at up to 30 fps with blackout‑free viewing and performs up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second. AI‑powered autofocus includes skeletal pose estimation for reliable tracking of people and fast‑moving subjects. Video capabilities cover 8K 30p (with oversampling), 4K 60p and 4K 120p, while Dual Gain Shooting improves dynamic range and reduces noise. The camera adds enhanced in‑body stabilization, a new high‑capacity NP‑SA100 battery, and the XLR‑A4 adaptor for 32‑bit float on‑camera audio recording. It supports Sony’s Camera Authenticity Solution based on the C2PA standard. Priced at ₹4,70,990, the Alpha 7R VI will be available from 3 July 2026 through Sony retail stores, ShopatSC.com and Amazon, with a complimentary battery worth ₹10,490 as an introductory offer.
