Sony launches Bravia 6 OLED television series

Sony has launched the Bravia 6 OLED, a new entry-level series within its OLED television lineup. Positioned below the Bravia 8 models, this series aims to provide more affordable access to OLED technology while maintaining features for home cinema and gaming.

A notable technical highlight is the inclusion of four HDMI 2.1 ports, a feature not found in some of Sony’s more expensive premium models. These ports support 4K at 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), making the series attractive to gamers using modern consoles or PCs.

The Bravia 6 features a 120Hz 4K HDR self-emissive display, Triluminos Pro color technology, and runs on the Google TV platform with Gemini integration. The series includes five screen sizes: 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. The 83-inch model marks a return to this specific size for Sony’s OLED offerings.

While Sony has not officially confirmed the specific processor, technical details suggest the use of the MediaTek Pentonic 800 system chip. The series supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X.
