Sony launches RX10 V all-in-one superzoom camera with AI autofocus and 4K video

Sony announced the fifth‑generation RX10 V, an all‑in‑one superzoom that combines a fixed ZEISS Vario‑Sonnar T* 24–600 mm f/2.4–4 lens with a 1‑inch stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor delivering about 20.1 megapixels. The camera uses the BIONZ XR image processor, which incorporates an AI unit for Real‑time Recognition autofocus that can detect people, pets, birds, insects, vehicles, trains and aircraft, and can track subjects even when faces are not visible. It offers up to 60 AF calculations per second, 30 fps continuous shooting with blackout‑free EVF (120 fps refresh), and a 3‑inch LCD with 1.62 million dots.

Video capabilities include 4K recording at up to 120 p (slow‑motion) and 4K 60 p with full‑pixel readout, S‑Cinetone, S‑Log3 and 10‑bit 4:2:2 output. The RX10 V features a USB‑C port, dual‑band Wi‑Fi, a NP‑FZ100 battery that provides roughly 570‑630 shots depending on viewfinder use, and a dust‑ and moisture‑resistant body. Pre‑orders are open and the retail price is set at €2,500.
