Sony Sonjaya's Justice Collaborator Request Under Review in Indonesia Corruption Probe

Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office has scheduled an examination of former deputy head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sony Sonjaya, to verify his application for justice‑collaborator status. Sonjaya was named a suspect on 3 June 2026 in an alleged corruption case over the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program for 2025‑2026, alongside other former officials.

He submitted a request for justice‑collaborator status on 8 June 2026, which was received by the special crimes division. Prosecutor Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi said the request is being studied and Sonjaya will be examined to determine what information and evidence he can provide. The agency’s legal information chief, Anang Supriatna, warned the application could be rejected if Sonjaya is found to be the primary perpetrator, noting that investigators will first interview him before deciding.
