Sony announces RX10 V bridge camera launch on July 9

Sony confirmed that it will unveil a new model in its RX10 series, the RX10 V, on 9 July at 16:00 GMT. The announcement was posted on the company’s Instagram and YouTube channels and marks the first addition to the premium bridge‑camera line in nearly nine years since the RX10 IV.

Leaked details suggest the camera will retain a 1‑inch sensor but feature a dual Bionz‑ZR processor together with a dedicated AI chip to improve autofocus, including subject‑recognition for people, animals, birds, cars and aircraft, plus eye‑detection. Video capabilities are expected to expand to 4K up to 120 fps, Full HD at 240 fps, S‑Log3 and LUT support. The body design may follow Sony’s A9 III and A1 II grips, with additional customizable buttons.

The launch will be streamed globally, with specific mention of availability in India and other markets. The new camera aims to fill the gap left by the discontinued RX10 IV, targeting photographers who need a long zoom range without interchangeable lenses.
