Sony unveils RX10 V superzoom camera ahead of July 9 launch

Sony confirmed that its next‑generation RX10 V superzoom camera will be presented on 9 July. A teaser video shows a redesigned body, a larger 1‑inch‑format sensor, a new lens with a 9.1–235 mm (≈25–640 mm equivalent) focal range and a double‑capacity NPF‑Z100 battery. The camera is reported to feature dual BIONZ XR image processors, an AI chip and upgraded autofocus that can track eyes and subjects for people, animals, birds, cars and aircraft. Video capabilities are expanded to 4K at 120 fps and 1080 p at 240 fps with S‑Log3 support. The launch follows the 2017 RX10 IV, which offered a 20 MP sensor and a 24–600 mm equivalent lens.
