Sooke disappearance: Search continues for Jesokah Adkens 25 years later

Twenty-five years after 17-year-old Jesokah Adkens vanished in Sooke, British Columbia, her disappearance remains an unsolved case. Adkens was last seen at approximately 9:30 p.m. on September 26, 2001, while waiting for a bus near Sooke Road and Idlemore Road. She never boarded the bus and has not been seen since.

At the time of her disappearance, Adkens was a student at Edward Milne Community School and was living with a friend in downtown Sooke. Her father, Clayten, has expressed belief that she did not leave voluntarily, citing her failure to make arrangements for her puppy as a key indicator.

Following the initial disappearance, authorities conducted extensive searches by land, air, and water, including investigations beneath the Sooke River Bridge. The Sooke RCMP stated that foul play could not be ruled out, and the investigation was subsequently taken over by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit. While the bus stop where she was last seen has been moved, a memorial remains near the original location. Authorities and Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers continue to seek information regarding the case.
