Jesokah Adkens disappearance in Sooke

Overview

The disappearance of Jesokah Adkens, a 17-year-old student, remains an unsolved cold case 25 years after she vanished in Sooke, British Columbia. Adkens was last seen on September 26, 2001, at approximately 9:30 p.m. while walking toward a bus stop near Sooke Road and Idlemore Road after leaving a friend’s home. She never boarded the bus and has not been seen since.

Following her disappearance, authorities conducted extensive searches by land, air, and water, including investigations beneath the Sooke River Bridge. The Sooke RCMP stated that “foul play could not be ruled out,” and the investigation was subsequently taken over by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.

At the time of her disappearance, Adkens was described as 5’5” tall, weighing between 88 and 110 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a Doors band T-shirt, jeans, a black pullover, and black runners. Her father, Clayten, has expressed belief that she did not leave voluntarily, noting her failure to make arrangements for her puppy as a key indicator. Authorities and Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers continue to seek information regarding the case.
