Sooke disappearance of Jesokah Adkens remains unsolved after 25 years

The disappearance of 17-year-old Jesokah Adkens in Sooke, British Columbia, remains unsolved 25 years after she was last seen. Adkens vanished on September 26, 2001, while walking to a bus stop near Sooke Road and Idlemore Road.

At the time, Adkens was a student at Edward Milne Community School. Her father, Clayten, noted that she was well-liked and unlikely to have left voluntarily, citing her puppy as a reason she would have stayed in contact.

Following her disappearance, authorities conducted extensive searches by land, air, and water, including investigations beneath the Sooke River Bridge. The Sooke RCMP stated that foul play could not be ruled out, and the case was subsequently handled by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sooke RCMP or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers.
