Sophia Laforteza takes hiatus from Katseye for mental health

Sophia Laforteza, a member of the pop group Katseye, has announced a temporary hiatus to focus on her mental health. The decision follows recommendations from medical professionals for extended rest and ongoing care.

Her management, a partnership between HYBE and Geffen Records, confirmed the hiatus in a notice stating that Laforteza would be unable to participate in upcoming promotions. While her condition is expected to be reassessed in September, no specific return date has been set. Laforteza shared on social media that the decision was difficult but necessary to ensure her long-term ability to perform.

Laforteza is the second member of the group to step back for health reasons this year, following an earlier hiatus by Manon Bannerman. The group, which was originally formed with six members, is currently operating with four active performers.
