Sophie Cunningham addresses critics and Indiana Fever future

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has addressed recent criticism regarding her role on the team following her performance in the 2026 WNBA season. As an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Cunningham responded to suggestions that the franchise should prioritize roster spots for superstar Caitlin Clark by stating, “It doesn’t matter what somebody says to me, I’m gonna keep doing me.”

Cunningham recently posted a video on TikTok wearing Indiana Fever gear while lip-syncing to the song ‘Live Your Life’ by T.I. and Rihanna. The video, which includes the lyric “I’m not going away,” has led to speculation regarding her intention to remain with the Fever.

During the 2026 season, Cunningham served as a key perimeter shooter, recording a 41.9% three-point percentage. Fever General Manager Amber Cox has previously praised Cunningham’s leadership and production, suggesting the possibility of future contract negotiations.
