Netflix Announces Cast for 'This Summer Will Be Different' Series

Netflix is adapting Carley Fortune's bestselling romance novel *This Summer Will Be Different* into a ten‑episode series. The show will be filmed on location in Prince Edward Island and in Toronto and is described by the streamer as “a simmering, sun‑soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island.”

The series will be created and showrun by Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart, who also serve as executive producers alongside Fortune, Jennifer Kawaja, Elise Cousineau and Samantha Levine. Sophie Nélisse has been confirmed as the lead character Lucy, with Francesca Reale joining as Bridget and Roby Attal as Felix, nicknamed “Wolf.” Fortune said, “I fell in love with Prince Edward Island … the beauty of the island, the warmth of its people, and the friendships that sustain us are the foundation of *This Summer Will Be Different*.”

The source novel has sold more than four million copies worldwide and has been translated into thirty languages, but no official release date for the series has been announced.
