Soria corruption probe: Judge extends judicial secrecy

A judge has extended the judicial secrecy for the second time regarding the ‘Fuentona case’, a major corruption investigation in Soria, Spain. The measure is intended to protect ongoing investigations, preventing involved parties from accessing the case files.

The investigation follows a June 23 raid by the Guardia Civil at the Soria City Council, which resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, including the Councilor for Tourism and Environment, Yolanda Santos. The probe is examining potential crimes including administrative malfeasance, influence peddling, document forgery, money laundering, and prohibited activities by public officials.

Authorities are specifically looking into municipal contracts involving the company Biosfera. All detainees were released pending charges.
