Sorocaba authorities conduct cleanup and monitoring after heavy rains

The Sorocaba City Hall has mobilized multiple municipal departments, including the Civil Defense, the Secretariat of Mobility (Semob), and the Secretariat of Public Services and Works (Serpo), to manage the aftermath of heavy rains and monitor the Sorocaba River levels.

Cleanup and recovery efforts began on Saturday and are scheduled to continue through Sunday. Emergency actions include clearing debris from roads, removing fallen trees, repairing potholes, and addressing water infiltration in municipal buildings.

Traffic has been restored on major routes such as Avenida Dom Aguirre and Avenida XV de Agosto. While most flooded streets have been cleared, authorities continue to monitor specific areas like Parque Vitória Régia where water accumulation was reported. The municipal administration aims to restore safety, mobility, and public space usage across various neighborhoods in the city.
