Sorocaba sends 18 teams to state youth games in Barretos

A delegation of 165 athletes and support staff from Sorocaba began competing on Friday in the final stage of the 41st Jogos Abertos da Juventude, the state youth games of São Paulo. The municipality fields 18 teams across 12 disciplines, including athletics, basketball, futsal, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, table tennis, beach volleyball, volleyball and chess. The competition, organized by the São Paulo State Sports Secretariat, is being held in Barretos and runs through 13 May. Sorocaba’s participation is backed by the local Secretary of Sport and Quality of Life, highlighting the city’s commitment to youth sport development.
