Sorrento Peninsula road and rail services restored after rockfall and night train suspension
A rockfall in the Tordigliano area of the Amalfi Coast forced the closure of State road 163, prompting a temporary one‑way traffic regime with semaphore control. After safety works and rock‑stabilisation, the alternating traffic arrangement and semaphores were removed, allowing normal two‑way traffic to resume.
The Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) announced a scheduled night‑time suspension of Circumvesuviana trains between Vico Equense and Sorrento on 4–5 August. Replacement bus services will operate during the 22:30‑06:10 window, with specific train departures adjusted to start or end at Vico Equense instead of Sorrento.
