Sota Fukushi and Ayara Shida to star in new mystery drama

Actors Sota Fukushi and Ayara Shida are preparing for the upcoming Nippon TV Sunday drama, ‘Hide and Seek: 0-byo no Kanojo’, which is scheduled to premiere on October 4. The series is based on an original work by popular mystery author Masahiro Imamura.

In the drama, Fukushi plays Yuichi Tsukura, a freelance journalist who becomes a fugitive after being implicated in a bombing incident that claimed the life of his lover. Shida portrays Sana Takagi, a caregiver who appears to have died in the incident but later contacts Tsukura, sparking a mystery regarding her true identity and whether she is still alive.

During interviews, Fukushi noted the physical demands of filming chase scenes in high temperatures and shared that his interest in shojo manga influenced his creative input on romantic scenes. Shida discussed the complexity of playing a character with a dual nature and her preparation for the fast-paced mystery elements of the script.
