South Africa Issues Strong Wind and Rain Alerts for KwaZulu-Natal

The South African Weather Service has issued yellow level‑2 warnings for damaging coastal winds and waves between KwaDukuza and Kosi Bay, and for interior winds that could damage settlements in the north‑eastern parts of KwaZulu‑Natal. The alerts are in force until Sunday 02 August 2026 afternoon.

The service also warned of strong winds and rain across several provinces, with localized disruption to small harbours and a risk of small vessels capsizing. Forecasts for the nine provinces range from fine and cool conditions in Gauteng and the Free State to cloudy, foggy and rainy weather in KwaZulu‑Natal, with strong northeasterly breezes expected along the coast.
