South Africa Issues Yellow Warning for Damaging Winds in Northern Cape
The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level‑1 warning for damaging winds across parts of the Northern Cape. The alert targets the Richterveld, Nama Khoi and Kamiesberg municipalities and is expected to cause localized problems for high‑sided vehicles on prone routes until Saturday.
Provincial forecasts call for cloudy to partly cloudy conditions and cool temperatures nationwide, with isolated to scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms. Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Free State and the Western Cape are expected to see mainly cool, cloudy weather, while the Northern Cape will be warm in the extreme west and cool elsewhere. The Eastern Cape and KwaZulu‑Natal will experience intermittent rain and varying wind directions along the coast.
