South Africa matric exam regulations for Class of 2026

As the Class of 2026 prepares for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) final exams, students are advised to follow specific regulations to avoid complications during testing.

Stationery requirements include using only blue or black ink in answer books. Highlighters are permitted on question papers but not in answer books, and correction fluid or erasable pens are prohibited. Pencil bags must be transparent and free of labels.

Students must bring their identity documents and exam admission letters to every session. Regarding food and drink, water must be kept in clear bottles without labels. If permitted by the school, snacks like nuts or biltong may be brought in transparent containers or ziplock bags, provided they have no branded packaging.

Electronic devices, including cellphones and smartwatches, are strictly prohibited in the exam venue and should be left at home or placed in designated storage areas.
