South Africa weather alerts: Damaging winds and fire danger
The South African Weather Service has issued several severe weather alerts across various provinces. A Yellow Level 2 Warning for damaging winds has been issued for the Eastern Cape, specifically affecting the Joe Gqabi and Chris Hani district municipalities, Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, and the Kouga, Ndlambe, and Ngqushwa local municipalities. These winds may cause localized damage to settlements and difficult driving conditions.
Additionally, a Yellow Level 2 Warning for damaging wind and waves is expected between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred, with potential disruptions to beachfront activities and navigation. Extremely high fire danger conditions are also forecasted for parts of the Free State, Northern Cape, and the Eastern Cape.
Other regional forecasts include morning fog and frost in several provinces, while Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and the North West are expected to experience fine, warm, or hot conditions.
