South Africa weather alerts: thunderstorms and fire danger

The South African Weather Service has issued several weather alerts across the country, including severe thunderstorm warnings and fire danger advisories.

Yellow Level 2 warnings for severe thunderstorms, heavy downpours, strong winds, and hail are in effect for Gauteng, central to eastern North West, and central to western Limpopo. These conditions may lead to localized flooding and damage to infrastructure. Additionally, damaging winds are expected in the Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City District Municipalities, as well as the Ndlambe, Nqgushwa, and Sundays River Valley Local Municipalities.

Fire danger warnings have been issued for the Matzikema, Cederberg, Bergrivier, and Kamiesberg municipalities due to extremely high risk. The Kamiesberg municipality is also under an advisory for extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions.
