South Africa weather service issues severe storm warnings
The South African Weather Service has issued several weather alerts across multiple provinces. A Yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms has been declared for the eastern parts of the central and eastern Northern Cape, as well as the Beaufort West Municipality in the Western Cape. These storms may bring heavy downpours, hail, excessive lightning, and gusty winds, which could lead to localized flooding of roads, bridges, and settlements.
Additionally, a Yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain is in effect for the western parts of the Eastern Cape, with heavy downpours expected to persist into Sunday. Other regional forecasts include partly cloudy and cool conditions for Gauteng, morning fog in parts of Mpumalanga, and scattered thundershowers in the North West and Free State.
