South Africa's President Ramaphosa to keynote SADC Summit lecture in Durban

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address at a public lecture on 14 August 2026 in Durban, South Africa. The event will be held at the University of KwaZulu‑Natal’s Westville Campus and forms part of the programme for the 46th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), which South Africa is hosting.

The lecture, themed “Translating SADC Vision 2050 into Action: Pathways Towards Solidarity, Equality and Shared Prosperity,” will provide a platform for policymakers, academics, business leaders, civil‑society representatives and students to discuss practical steps for regional integration, industrialisation, infrastructure development, peace, security and inclusive growth. President Ramaphosa’s remarks are expected to reaffirm South Africa’s commitment to advancing the SADC Vision 2050 agenda and strengthening cooperation across member states.
