South American airlines expand direct international routes for summer season
Airlines are expanding direct international connectivity within South America for the upcoming summer season. In Brazil, Salvador will see five weekly direct flights to Santiago, Chile. Latam Airlines is scheduled to launch a new route between the two cities starting January 3, 2027, with three weekly frequencies. Additionally, SKY Airline will resume direct service between Salvador and Santiago on December 28, 2026, offering two weekly flights.
In another regional expansion, Gol Linhas Aéreas has announced a new seasonal route connecting Asunción, Paraguay, to Florianópolis, Brazil. These direct flights are set to operate from January 5 until February 14, 2027, aiming to facilitate tourism between the Paraguayan capital and the Brazilian coast during the high season.
