South American Cities Launch Summer Gastronomic Festivals

The municipality of Rio Grande in Brazil will run a "Circuito Gastronómico" from 3 to 25 July to celebrate the city’s 105th anniversary. The four‑week program features themed evenings – including a "Noche de las Cervecerías", a "Tarde de las Confiterías", a "Noche de Pizzas y Pastas" and a "Noche de Food Truck" – with special promotions, live music and a digital passport that enters participants in a draw for World Cup‑themed kits.

In Argentina, the "Caminos y Sabores" fair will host a "Gran Banquete Argentino" from 9 to 12 July at BA Ferial. More than a dozen leading chefs such as Germán Martitegui, Juan Gaffuri and Paco Almeida will present dishes that highlight local ingredients. As chef Ariel Gravano noted, "Hoy tenemos una de las mejores burratas del mundo, un dulce de leche extraordinario y carnes de primerísima calidad". The event aims to showcase regional food stories and promote Argentine producers.

Both festivals seek to boost local commerce, celebrate culinary heritage and attract visitors during the summer season.
