South Korea and Vietnam partner on semiconductor talent development

South Korea and Vietnam are deepening cooperation in higher education, research, and technological development, with a specific focus on the semiconductor industry. This collaboration aims to train professionals to meet the demands of the digital economy.

Rather than a single government treaty, the partnership consists of a growing network of agreements between universities, companies, and research institutions, supported by both governments. A key milestone was the July 2024 agreement between Vietnam National University (VNU) in Hanoi and Seoul National University (SNU).

This academic agreement includes joint research, the exchange of professors and students, and specialized programs focused on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and high-level talent development.
