South Korea expands KTX service to Yeongdeungpo and Gyeongju stations

Starting September 1, KTX Honam‑line trains will stop at Yeongdeungpo Station in Seoul, providing two daily northbound and southbound stops. The addition follows a request by the Yeongdeungpo District Office led by Mayor Jo Yu‑jin and is expected to improve rail access for residents of Yeongdeungpo, Guro, Geumcheon and Yangcheon districts.

From the same date, KTX and KTX‑Ium services will add three weekday and five weekend trips that pass through Gyeongju Station in North Gyeongsang Province, increasing connectivity with Seoul, Busan and Bucheon. Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak‑young said the expansion will boost tourism and convenience for citizens.
