South Korean KTX rail service expansions

Overview

South Korea is implementing several expansions to its KTX rail services scheduled for September 1.

Initial developments include the Honam-line KTX service adding stops at Yeongdeungpo Station in Seoul and increasing trips through Gyeongju Station to improve connectivity between Seoul, Busan, and Bucheon.

Simultaneously, KTX services between Ulsan and Seoul will expand, with an accompanying fare reduction of up to 10% for standard and first-class passengers. The KTX-Eum service between Taehwagang Station and Cheongnyangni will also see increased frequency on both weekdays and weekends.
