South Korea hosts youth-focused festivals and peace awareness week

South Korea is hosting various initiatives focused on youth engagement and peace awareness. In Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, the ‘2026 Peak Time Festival’ was held at Geumgang Singwan Park. The event featured diverse programs including music performances, career planning sessions with representatives from companies like Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor, and exhibitions on future technologies such as AI and VR.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Unification launched ‘2026 Peace Wind Week,’ a series of events running until the 21st. During a youth talk concert in Seoul, Unification Minister Jung Dong-young described peace as an essential resource, comparable to water and air, and urged young people to maintain an active interest in the subject. The week includes various participatory programs designed to increase public awareness of peace and unification efforts.
